Students at Bobby Moore Academy make donations to local food bank
Students brought in a number of items to be donated to Newham Food Bank, which offers a minimum of three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food to members of the local community who are in a state of crisis or need.
Mr Riley, Assistant Principal at Bobby Moore Academy, said: “Part of our drive at Bobby Moore Academy is to encourage our students to think about their local community and how they can be a central part of supporting it.
“We have been blown away by the generosity and maturity our students have shown.
“This is the first time we have been involved with Newham Food Bank and hope to continue to support the initiative in the future.”
As part of the David Ross Education Trust, Bobby Moore Academy is at the centre of its local community, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere and embracing the values of community support.
The Trust aims to provide every child with a world-class education by focusing on delivering high standards of attainment and achievement, whilst raising confidence and self-esteem amongst individuals. Alongside providing academic excellence, building a strong community encourages pupils to leave school as well-rounded individuals and valued members of society.
Bobby Moore Academy will be hosting a Primary School Open Event from 2.00pm – 3.00pm on Monday 8th January 2018. Parents and carers of children who will start primary school in September 2018 will be able to speak with staff about the world-class education on offer at Bobby Moore Academy.
