East London’s brand new Bobby Moore Academy welcomes its first students
The new school, situated within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, opened its doors to students for the very first time today.
The state-of-the-art academy, set in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, currently caters for 125 Year 7 students. The school will eventually educate, engage and inspire 1,560 children across two sites that will sit alongside the former Olympic Stadium.
Students at Bobby Moore Academy will start their academic journey within the primary building, whilst the academy’s spectacular secondary building is due to open in September 2018.
The new purpose-built facilities cater for the broad and balanced curriculum with specialist facilities for science, sports and the arts. The academy’s incredible location means that students will also benefit from outstanding facilities within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, including the London Marathon Community Track and the London Aquatics Centre, as well as many opportunities to engage with local cultural venues and universities.
