A new principal has been appointed at Bobby Moore Academy, part of David Ross Education Trust. Mr Daniel Botting has been appointed to the headship role and will take up his role in September 2020.
Mr Botting will join Bobby Moore Academy from the Royal Russell School, a 3 – 18 independent school in Croydon, where he has been Deputy Head since 2016, overseeing excellent academic results and an expanded extra-curricular programme
Prior to Royal Russell, Mr Botting had five years as Assistant Head at Prendergast Vale, a new all-through school in Lewisham. Having studied at Oxford University, Mr Botting joined Teach First, taking up his first teaching posts in Hillingdon and then Newham.
With almost a decade worth of experience as a senior leader in all-through schools, Mr Botting is passionate about supporting every young person to achieve their potential at each stage of their education.
Mr Botting said:
“I’m very excited by the opportunity to be part of a forward-looking group of schools, focusing on excellent teaching and a high-quality academic curriculum, whilst also developing well-rounded and ambitious young people. Having previously worked in Newham, I’m delighted to be returning to the borough and using the experience I’ve gained to provide a great education at Bobby Moore Academy.
“As Principal, I’m looking forward to leading the growth and development of Primary and Secondary phases, and helping them to become firmly established at the heart of the local community. I’m also looking forward to getting to know the staff and students properly – I was so impressed by the warm and positive welcome I received during my visit to Bobby Moore Academy. Most of all, I want to ensure that we deliver the world-class education our students deserve, helping them to achieve great outcomes in their studies and beyond. “
